چکیده

Background Colon cancer continues to be the third most commonly occurring around globe with both lifestyle-related risk factors and genetic dispositions. Owing increased incidence of disease, there is a need find new treatment options which are easily accessible less toxic cells. Cynaropicrin, sesquiterpene extract from artichoke plant exhibits varied properties such as anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, anti-oxidant among others. In current investigation, anti-cancer potential cynaropicrin was observed against colon in HCT-116 cell lines. Materials Methods The drug exhibited considerable decrease proliferation. Also analyzed reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation apoptosis induction by on line. AO/EtBr staining confirmed apoptotic through chromatin condensation fluorescence microscopic examination followed DAPI treated cells showed nuclear disintegration. Results Furthermore, it that elevated levels ROS modified mitochondrial membrane permeability study also evaluated proteins expression inflammatory cytokines concerning untreated control Conclusion It has been can lead line via mitochondria-mediated pathway if further evaluated, turn out potent for effective management cancer.

Induction of apoptosis by 7-piperazinethylchrysin in HCT-116 human colon cancer cells.

The antitumor activity of 7-piperazinethylchrysin (7-PEC) was investigated in HCT-116 human colon cancer cells. MTT assay revealed that the IC50 of 7-PEC in HCT-116 cells was 1.5 µM after 72 h of treatment, much lower than that of chrysin (>100 µM). The data showed that 7-PEC was able to inhibit the growth of HCT-116 cells in a concentration- and time-dependent manner. Topical morphological cha...

Induction of apoptosis in HCT-116 colon cancer cells by polysaccharide of Larimichthys crocea swim bladder

Larimichthys crocea swim bladder is a traditional food and medicine widely used in China. The in vitro anticancer effects of polysaccharide of L. crocea swim bladder (PLCSB) in HCT-116 human colon cancer cells was investigated by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide assay. At concentrations ranging between 0 and 800 μg/ml PLCSB, cancer cell viability was decreased by PLC...

Proteins that interact with calgranulin B in the human colon cancer cell line HCT-116

Calgranulin B is released from immune cells and can be internalized into colon cancer cells to prevent proliferation. The present study aimed to identify proteins that interact with calgranulin B to suppress the proliferation of colon cancer cells, and to obtain information on the underlying anti-tumor mechanism(s) of calgranulin B. Calgranulin B expression was induced in colon cancer cell line...

Induction of p53 contributes to apoptosis of HCT-116 human colon cancer cells induced by the dietary compound fisetin.

Fisetin, or 3,3',4',7-tetrahydroxyflavone, is present in fruits and vegetables and has been previously reported to inhibit the proliferation of a variety of cancer cells (Lu X, Jung J, Cho HJ, Lim do Y, Lee HS, Chun HS, Kwon DY, Park JH. J Nutr 135: 2884-2890, 2005). We have demonstrated in a previous work that 20-60 micromol/l fisetin inhibits cyclin-dependent kinase activities resulting in ce...

Induction of Apoptosis and Non-Apoptosis in Human Breast Cancer Cell Line (MCF-7) by Cisplatin and Caffeine

Background: Molecular targeted therapy by different cell death inducers are recently considered in cancer therapy. The aim of this study was to compare the effect of cisplatin and inositol trisphosphate kinase inhibitor (caffeine) on human breast cancer cell line (MCF-7). The pattern of cell death in MCF-7 cells following the exposure to cisplatin and caffeine in individual and combination form...
